Non piratic posts

On Sunday I saw this:

It was fookin' good. Nisenenmondai are a Japanese 3 piece girl band from Tokyo and I've been wanting to see them for ages. They were playing well near my house so I went even though i hadn't been to bed the night before and was feeling tired and rough. They woke me up. It's not exactly easy listening. I bought a pink t shirt.

They were supported by an equally great band called Bo Ningen, also Japanese. Who in places reminded quite a lot of this band:

Who are on our label, and who are VERY good.

Then on Tuesday Jonny showed me this:

which made me chuckle. (although i didn't understand what it was at first cos i'm a bit thick)

Other exciting news.... is that as Jonny pointed out were are about to go into the studio with our extremely itchy fingers to make a BRILLIANT SECOND ALBUM. People go on about second albums being difficult, living up to the first one etc. I don't think it's going to be a problem for us!!! (this is self-assured confidence, not arrogance)

roll on August....

New Album Nerves

On Monday we go into the studio for the first part of the recording of Album No.2. I am listening to the demos at the moment and it's quite exciting. After rehearsing for so long it's nice to have some time to reflect on the songs and try and take them in from an almost objective perspective. I am hopefully that people will like it!

We have nearly narrowed down the tracklist but nothing concrete yet. There'll be plenty of new songs that hopefully people won't have heard..and some they will, if you are a keen patp gig goer that is!

No release date as yet. First part of next year perhaps? Lets get it recorded first eh?

Tommy has been encouraging more Blog action so here's a post from me about me.

Some thoughts on religion perhaps?

Or an x-ray snake?

Or something lovely?

Or an x-ray cat?

Let me know your thoughts...

Peter's Big Organ

Until I or another band member has something more substantial and relevant to post, silly video clips will have to do. Me and Pete took a break from mixing today so he could show me his organ. I went into a trance.

By the way, we really enjoyed our gig at the borderline on Wednesday. To everyone who was there, big up yourselves. To those who weren't.... where were you?? doesn't matter, it was sold out.

Sausages and Socks

Here is a video of us playing a bit of one of our possible new songs called 'my sun hat' which we keep meaning to play live but forgetting.

Q: Why do you have your tops off?
A: because it's very very hot in the room.

Q: Why do you have socks over the microphones?
A: because we keep getting electric shocks on our lips from the dodgy PA system

And here is a video of peter and peter in peter's house. As usual, completely mundane. I really have to find something more interesting to post. Is a mundane post better than no post at all? Discuss.

Secret filming PATP private lives

Album demos going quite well. We are starting to get really excited about recording proper. Today we had a serious discussion about what we want to call the album but at the moment it looks like it's gonna be called little death.

Artwork may involve me getting a tattoo...

Pete Dog got this new computer what makes videos. Here's one I've done covertly just for you.

The top of my Head

Our blog has 26 followers. There is a special prize for whoever is follower no. 27. I haven't decided what the prize is yet. It might be quite underwhelming. I feel we need some more followers though. I'm not even sure what it means to follow a blog. I am listening to Augustus Pablo in my bedroom and its sounding sweeeet. I have high ceilings which lend a certain sonic je ne sais quoi as the Germans say. Little Pete is coming to Hackney tomorrow where Pete Dog and I live to add his lovely voice noises to our latest demos, of which there are 16 so far.

Whittling them down into a concise 12/13/14/acceptable album length is going to be a really tough and unpleasant job. We love them all, see. But i guess the ones that don't go on will make great B sides/special rarities! I've included some random photographs from fuck knows when to liven up this bla bla bla from the top of my head. The one above is I think from an acoustic set that me and pete did once at the lock tavern years ago. Pete is holding some kind of African shakey percussion instrument that smelled of poo. We got paid 1oo quid and got really drunk.

The other photos are from a gig we played in our Pyjamas at the Rising sun in Reading. A long long time ago. It was one of my favourite shows, - I can't recommend performing in PJs highly enough, it's very liberating and in the summer months it feels so nice and airy.

(above) when Pete perspires, his spectacles are prone to slipping from his face leading to lack of clear vision of microphone, crowd and guitar, so the move that you see him performing here is the 'mid chord glasses push on' which many other glasses wearing performers including Bono and Graham Coxon have tried to immitate but never to the same effect as Pete.

One for the ladies. Jonny in Cowskin print pyjama bottoms.

back soon.

Hi guys I just thought I'd do a post as the others finally let me contribute to the Pirates blog. I was given a six month ban after an embarrassing blogging incident involving insect porn. I wonder if i can work out how to show you a nice picture of david and tommy havin a coffee.

Oh good it seems I can.
